Default 2012 Hyundai Tucson engine

Hey all, new to the forum, have a few questions and wanted to pick your brains.
So I recently picked up a 2012 Hyundai Tucson with the 2.4 theta ii engine and auto trans. Picked it up for cheap knowing it needed and engine. Engines r very hard to come by for these here in Canada. But I was doing some digging and found that the 2010 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L uses a theta ii engine as well. Does anyone know if this engine will work in the Tucson? From what I can tell everything is the same but I don't want to bring in the engine if it's not going to work properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Make sure to use as much of the parts from the original engine as you can. I say this because for instance, if the crank pulley has different timing teeth you will never figure out why the engine doesn't run like it should. The days of switching engines like we did in the past are GONE. Some manufacturers make mid year changes to the same model and year so we need to be careful here.

Your vehicles engine should be covered under the engine campaign. I have replaced engines with over 200000 miles under warranty here in the US
