RE: 96 hyundai itermitent starting
I have a similar problem with my '97 Accent. It would not start for several days, was going to have it towed after a 10 day vacation and it started right up! If you don't have a service manual, get one. It will tell you how to test the Canister Purge Valve. If this is stuck open, it will cause the engine to flood and not start. If you notice as strong smell of exhaust right after a hot restart this is probably the problem. These valves appear to be problematic (see a post in the Accent section). Also, topping off the tank brimfull is not a good idea either, this can make the problem worse. My car always flooded the most about 100mi into a tankful of gas.
