Default Bypass Charcoal Canister?

On my '99 Accent, I'm getting the common deal where the check engine light is on and it's slow to put gas in. I'm pretty sure it's the pellets from the charcoal canister clogging everything up as a number of threads have mentioned. I found
https://www.hyundaiforum.com/forum/g...iagnosis-5971/ extremely helpful, and will do this sometime in the next few days.

I'm just wondering: has anyone tried just bypassing the charcoal canister? Just connect the hoses together and / or remove the canister altogether? Just curious.
