Default CAR WONT START AT GAS STATION

I have a 2004 Santa fe, and for the past two months, when I get gas only, the car will not start, to start I need to rev the engine and jerk the truck into drive and move a little and then jerk it back into park and continue reving the engine. Approx. 1 minute later she idles and I can turn off and on and everything is normal. Never have trouble starting anywhere but the gas station. Hyundai suggested, dry gas, gas treatment, this proved negative.

Are you overfilling it? Continuing to pump after the nozzle shuts off can overfill the tank and contaminate the Evap/Charcoal canister.

Hi, newbie here...I just joined this forum in an attempt to find any info on this same exact problem that my father in-law is having with his 04 Santa Fe (opprox 40k on the odo). It will crank but not start after fueling, no check engine lt, no codes stored in computer, and the dealer has no clue.

Either a fuel cut valve part # 31190-38000 or a fuel vent valve- part # 31180-26300 is sticking. Have your dealer contact the Hyundai Techline who will probably approve changing both.... they are only about $20.00 each.

Thanks for the reply After a little research, I found someone else who had the same problem and it turned out to be the purge valve sticking open. I mentioned it to my father-in-law and he brought it in to Hyundai, and when they checked it, sure enough it was stuck open, dumping fuel into the intake while upon fill up. Thanks again
