Default Fuel pump issues

I'm new here, just bought this car, it's a 1995 Accent. The car is blowing the fuel pump fuse in the power dist. box in the engine compartment. Any ideas what would cause this? I'm thinking it might be the fuel pump drawing to much juice. Other than that, it would have to be a short. The car has around 167,000 miles on it. I'm also wondering if this is a common problem. Thanks for any and all help.

sounds like you got a dead short in the wiring. disconect the pump and see if the fuse blows. if it does check the wiring ,if it doesnt the pumps seized. but i cant say i have ever heard of this fault before.

New problem! Fuel pump runs constantly, but car will not start. Instead of running for a few seconds, the pump runs all the time. I have fuel going thru the fuel rail thru the pressure regulator into the return line. Any ideas?
