i have a 2002 hyundai sonata, the car cranks up but does not want to turn over. i was told it could be the fuel filter, i purchased the fuel filter but could not find the location of the fuel filter would you be able to assit me in finding the location. or could it be something else wrong with the vehicle.

RE: start up problem
The fuel filter is the last thing I would try. Chances are you have a bad sensor. If sensors that measure engine rotation are not working, the ECU thinks the engine is not spinning and therefore it shuts off the fuel flow. The most likely culprit, or so I've heard, is the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Check all the fuses under the hood and under the dash as well. I once had the fuse that powers all those sensors out and forgot to put it back in and waddya know? The car wouldn't start.
Bottom line is that you probably have a sensor problem.
