So we had a snow storm a few days ago, sometime between getting home from work, and shoveling snow from the driveway I had lost my only key to my car.

So Thankfully a dealer near by was able to cut a key for me, all was fine until I get home to try the key.

After inserting the key, and turning it about a milimeter past the lock option on the cylinder. It stops, my key can no longer be removed. Nor does it move in any direction.
my steering wheel is unlocked and I've tried the jiggle pull what ever on everything while pushing or turning the key. It is a 5 speed manual so there is no park safety switch that's causing this.

What are my options?

Also I'm new here so hello.

Don't know what you're going to do about the key
I would have used pliers and stupidly broke the key in the cylinder

I've decided since I only paid 300 dollars for the car, that I'd just take the ignition switch off the bottom of the key cylinder and use a screw driver.

 

That is good
But, got to figure a way to hide it until you need to use it
Still it has to be easy to use.
