how do I get a terminal off the battery. It looks like a little beany with a bolt out the top. I have tried lifting, turning, pulling and twisting, and I can't get it off. I did not want to tear up the terminal. Am I missing something? Do I need a tool for it's removal?

 

With a wrench, turn the bolt CCW to remove it. Then with a small pry bar or large flat blade screwdriver, gently pry the cap up to loosen it. Once loosened, it should come straight up off the terminal. Undo the negative terminal first.

 

Be very very careful not to cross the streams, IE cover the other terminal and the area near by when working on the battery.
