Default 03 Hyundai Accent trunk latch problem

In the summer when it is hot I have trouble opening my hatchback trunk with the key.I suspect this is due to a stretched cable being made slack by the heat. How to I get the cover off the inside of the trunk to get at the latch? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Have you tried adjusting the striker? It's held down by two bolts. Take a pencil or pen and mark the oriignal location. Loosen the bolts and you can slide the striker in any direction for a better fit. Sometimes moving the striker a little left or right permits the latch to engage an unworn portion of the stiker which sometimes helps with this sort of situation.
