Default 07 ACCENT NOISE IN VALVETRAIN

I have a 07 accent with 18k miles and it has been to the dealer 3 times for a rattle from the top end. I am being told it is from the solid lifters and there is nothing wrong with it and it is not being fixed by the dealer. Iwas told the can not be adjusted as the ar shimmed and not adjustable. Is this right? The noise happens above 2800 RPM mostly when there is no real load on the engine, like when you are just about to shift, but you keep the RPM constant. It goes away as soon as you step on the gas and put a load on the engine. Has anyone seen this before? I do not want to pick it up from the dealer but they said it was nothing to worry about. This does not seem right. Any feedback?

Item #1 is a hydraulic lash adjuster. These are analagous to hydraulic lifters in a push rod engine. They maintain proper valve lash....quietly. I supect one of these is failing. You may wish to take your car to another dealership. Warrenty service is suppose to be provode by all Hyundai dealers, not just the one you purchased the car from.

There's a technical service bulletin out for the earlier model Accents that recommends using a genuine Hyundai oil fiter. The concern is the pressure setting for the internal bypass valve. I've used Fram filters on my car for years until itdeveloped HLA noise. After doing some research online I found thatFram filters were said to be some of the worst offenders.

Actually, that TSB is for all Hyundai vehicles. Yes, stay away from Fram filter. The Huyndai OEM filter is very good and not expensive at all. The only exception to the Fram filter is the cartridgefilter for the 3.3L and 3.8L Lambda engine. It is a very good one.
