Default 09 accent 4 door

Hi and thank you for reading me!!

The wife owns an 09 accent 4 doors. Bought it brand spanking new and everything went well until this morning, when after a cold night the digital odometer-trip meter showed only a part of the bottom of the digits...

I tried resetting the trip-meter but that didn't help it. It's still under warranty because we took the 7 year 100 000km warranty on it.

I'm just trying to gather if it's an easy fix or is my dealer gonna say it's not been working for so long and void the warranty??

Thanx!!

What Im sayin' is this: My brother's car had a digital dash...and when it stopped registering miles because of a malfunction he went straight to his dealer, and when asked the mileage of the car to supposedly set the new unit he said XX XXX miles. The dealer then said I dont believe you and this car has way more miles than this...and had his warranty void(ed) (im french...sorry for the syntax) on the grounds that the car was over the mileage limit.

Think they'll do that to me?? or is the mileage registered somewhere else on the ECM maybe?

Thx

The dealer your brother went to sound like jerks. I know many other makes/models have the mileage stored in the ecm (my old car did), so replacing the digital cluster would be easy job, as the orig miles would show up right away, but I have no idea with this car. The controls and displays are covered under warranty, so you should have no problem having the dealer fix it, don't worry about it, but do get it done asap.
