Question 09 accent quit running while driving. wont start. why?

I was driving down the road and my 09 accent quit running. Almost like it was out of gas. (It wasn't) now it won't start. I can smell gas after I turn it over a few times so I don't think its a fuel pump or filter. (Could be wrong). Any ideas what might be causing this?

Has the timing belt ever been changed? If so, when?

That's not good. The timing belt should be changed every 60,000 miles. My guess is the belt broke. And since that happened while you were driving, you probably bent or broke a bunch of valves. Not good news. See this thread: https://www.hyundaiforum.com/forum/g...nt-valve-6630/

Default Whoa!

You can’t just go off what he said. It definitely may not be broken and my car is kinda having a similar issue but it’s not a broken timing belt. Plus it’s the chain that bends valves. Not really the belts
