A friend of mine has a 2003 hyundai accent, 1.6L, automatic. She has an intermittent problem with the car stalling while driving. It happens once a week and sometimes twice a day.
While she's driving, the car will shut down... She takes the key out and puts it back in, tries to crank and nothing... She does not have to call for a towing. All she does is wait 10 minutes, put the key back in and starts no problem, as if nothing was wrong with it.
My first theory was a bad ground... So I cleaned the poles on the battery, re-tightened them. Cleaned the ground wires on the engine and around the engine bay. And the problem is not solved yet. The battery was replaced less than 3 years ago by the way.
Anybody ever had this problem or dealt with this problem before ???
Any help and or advice would be appreciated.

Check the computer for codes. Could be a number of things. Crank position sensor, cam position sensor, throttle position sensor, etc.

Because sometimes there are codes stored in the computer that don't always turn on the CEL. Go get the computer read at an auto parts store that will do it for free.
Why did you come here for advice you you aren't going to use it?

So then get the computer read for codes first.

My 2005 2.4l Sonata also dies randomly, and restarts almost immediately. There are also no codes.
Three months of this crap. Replaced most of the sensors.. still dies, still no codes.
I seriously feel for you.
