2009 Accent door swap for power locks and windows
Hello everyone! I recently inherited my mom's 2009 Hyundai Accent. She purchased it new and decided at that time to go for bare-bones model (I think it's the L model but there is no badge or indication on the registration). That means no A/C, power locks, or power windows! If I am forced to live without the windows and A/C I will survive, especially considering I don't drive all that much other than my work truck, but power locks at the very least is a must.
Does anyone have any experience swapping doors to enable the use of power locks and power windows? It looks like if I could get my hands on the correct doors I could probably swap them out in about 30 minutes each, but my question is: is the wiring installed to the connector between the body of the car and the door on every model, or would I need to run power wires for everything? Also, does anyone know which years are compatible with each other? The 2006-2011 models appear, at least from the outside, to be very similar, so I might be able to find a donor car for cheap.
I realise I can install aftermarket power locks, but quite frankly I just don't have time to mess around with those universal door lock actuators. They are a serious pain to adjust properly. Worst case scenario I would use OEM actuators powered from an aftermarket module.
Thanks in advance for any help!
