Default 2010 Blue vs 2010 GS MPG

So what exactly is the real-world MPG difference between the two? I was looking at a very nice GS Accent yesterday, but was wondering how much better the Blue would do for MPG. I know what the EPA says, but what have you guys experienced?

Thanks!

I sat in a "blue" at the dealership. For a measely 2 mpg advantage, I found what you have to give up with the package to be absolutely unacceptable. The car the dealer had was black, did NOT have A/C (try to live with THAT in TX), no radio, and no cruise. No thanx. Get the GS, you will be MUCH happier with that vehicle.

I was in a similar situation a couple of months ago. I was planning to get a new Accent Blue to replace my 2002 Accent coupe. I thought the Blue was the best option for me because of the low price, and since I already cranked my own windows the lack of features wasn't a big deal. I figured I'd get a stereo installed and be ready to go. Well, it turned out that none of the local dealers had any Blues in stock, so I ended up getting a GS. The price difference was a factor on my budget - but then I figured that in 5 or 6 years I'll have a car with value versus a bare bones model with absolutely no features that won't have any trade-in or resale value. Plus, I absolutely love love love my GS.

Another plus (and I'm not 100% positive about this so maybe another poster will know more) is that the GS has ABS and the Blue doesn't, and without ABS the Accent's braking distance is pretty dismal.

ABS is an option for the GS trim. To get it standard, you have to buy the SE.

I had the option between the blue and the gs. I went with the GS and loved it way better. The MPG isn't a huge difference between the two. It's more money but way worth it

Sounds like we're all pushing the GS over the Blue (or GL in 2011). If you can swing it financially, I think you'll be glad you did. But the price difference between the two trims is a factor at this price level.

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. I just purchased a 2010 GS (it was the last one on the lot). I couldn't be happier. For my first tank I averaged just over 30 mpg. What a great car!
