AC KIT for hyundai accent\blue trim
Ok on that vehicle you have to gut it. That means remove dash and a/c box assy to install evaporator. Elantras came with evaporator just add lines ,compressor ect. That job on your car is about 10 hrs at a dealer. If you have the skills to do it the instructions come in the box. I can do the job in about 5 hrs. But I have done a ton of em. Now if you do the job yourself all you would have to do is pay dealer for evac and recharge time and freon.
I would not be able to the AC installation myself, I have no experience. But as I mentioned on an earlier post, a friend of mine is a mechanic and has had experience with ac's. My concern is how big a job is it to remove the dash board? Also was wondering if anyone has bought the ac kit and how much they paid for it?

ok, i just misunderstood your last post. removing the dash is not that big of a job, a competent mechanic can do it in an hour give or take.
as for cost, thats already been answered here. you can:
1. contact a stealership for a price
2. use the website that offers the a/c as a kit that someone posted above
3. contact a scrapyard

Dont be scared. There is a manual on how to install with the factory kit. Really simple . Only thing that is hard is removing radio facia. Now alot of people call em (( stealership )) ,, but you get what you pay for. Ya wanna pay joe to butcher your dash and have squeeks rattles afterwards ....fine with me. There are capable techs that dont work in dealers just be careful. Now I would do it myself but then again I do it all day. I have the tools and skills to do it right. If your friend is a good tech let him do it. If you doubt his skills in any way........DONT. Accents dashs mark easily so keep this in mind. Good luck in whatever decision you make and remember its your car not mine or any one else on here........its different when its your own . I would do some price shopping on the install before I made a decision. We (dealership) that I work out beat indy prices all day long . Not hard just have to have motivated service manager .
Thanks for the feed back about the dash board. I think now I feel confident enough to do the job. Will post after complition, just in case anyone is interested.
Thanks

Update...... just remembered on some later accents 2010 and so on evaporator is installed. You need to make sure yours does not have evaporator in it before doing all of this. You should be able to look behind the engine on the firewall and see if the tubes for the evaporator are there. Some have a plate on em.
Thanks for the update. As it turns out just by chance I happened to read on ebay page that 2010 accents build after a certain date already have the evaporator. Mine happens to have the evaporator which is great news.
I love it when complete extrangers look out for eachother.
Thanks again
