Hi,

I have a 2004 Accent that give a chirp or squeak when the aircon comes on. It also seems to engaged with a bit of a jerk. The dealers fix was to tighten the belt which had no effect. Any ideas?

if the dealer has tightened the belts it probably means the a/c clutch is starting to fail or slip they are easy enough to change as they can be unbolted from the a/c compressor. go back to the dealer and have a word!

 

I think I'll get my partner to talk to the dealer. She can get further before degenerating into an argument than I can.

 

Hmm. Problem seems to have gone away with more constant use during current hot weather.
