Was on junk yard today saw this car it looks like battery exploded pretty bad melting the headlight and the fuse box and all around it, all engine bay is covered with white particles that looks like sand.

Now inside both airbags were deployed and all interior covered with more white powder this time from airbags.

Crazy stuff hope everyone was okay, what battery type you think it was AGM or regular based on powder?

Why did it explode? If it was while charging would airbags still fire?

Now this leads me to think that car manufacturers should force engine off when airbags deployed in case battery explodes at full freeway speed...
