since you havea parts car why not try switching alternators and see if it makes a difference.

Did you ever figure this out. I replace dmy headlights with silverstar and checked the fuses etc. No avail. if you dont mind sharing your discoveries it would be greatly appreciated.

I would get a new alternator from eBay. It's about $50. It's a voltage spike, probably the voltage regulator is bad.
