Mahout...I was informed that the transmission in the Azera is an adaptive one. I've got an '06 and I certainly don't ever worry about downshifts whether in automatic or manual mode. Maybe the poster needs to look up the WOT (wide open throttlebody shift) shifting TSB and have his transmission re-flashed.
