Removing a Broken Oil Cap
'06 Hyundai Azera Limited

Inscrutably, the ratcheting oil cap will not twist off. I'm guessing from the sound and feel as I twist the cap counterclockwise that the pawl has broken inside the cap. Clearly I must replace the cap.
But first, I gotta remove the thing.
How does one remove a stuck oil cap without creating plastic detritus that'll invariably fall inside head..?
