03 Elantra hesitating when cold
When its cold, Ill start it up and put it in gear and when i hit the gas nothing happens... like i never even touched it, the tach doesnt rev up or anything. Kinda wierd that the car doesnt change idle when I hit the gas considering we have a throttle cable linkage. After a few seconds it catches, then I have no more problems.
I have about 140,000 miles on mine, and no other problems. about 30K miles ago I replaced the head gasket valve seals, timing belt, water pump, air filter and spark plugs. A while back someone tried to steal my car or something, long story short I had to replace my ECU and idle air control motor, but the problem was going on before ANY of this work, or the maintenance work I did. I guess I can rule that idle motor out, which is right on the throttle body. I've cleaned the throttle body although it was pretty clean to begin with and put some injector cleaner in the gas tank, as well as used sea-foam.
My next guess is throttle position sensor, but I have no idea where that is. Plus its a work vehicle that I paid 1000 dollars for so I dont want to blow a bunch of money replacing parts that I am not sure will remedy the problem. Its not so much a problem but a nussaince, and I guess im doing okay if thats the worst thats happening.
