05 Hyundai Elantra Gt Motor Removal
I asked the question, Can the motor be pulled from the top without the trans instead of all of it out the bottom like the book and everyone say's.
For those who want to know, The answer is..... YES IT CAN..
If it is an auto trans.
I haven't tried it with a pressure plate so i don't know if you can with a manual trans.
If you remove the water pump, harmonic balancer and front motor mount you will have more than enough room to do it.
Remove the exhaust and intake manifolds, remove the starter and unbolt the torque converter through the starter hole.
The hardest part of this removal was that my motor is seized and i could not turn the motor to get the torque converter bolts through the starter hole.
But if you separate the motor and trans you can get a wrench on the bolt but not enough room for your finger so it will take some time to turn them out,
