My fiance has a 08 elantra with 2.0, im about to replace the timing belt on. im tryin to figure out from someone if the water pump is drivin by the timing belt or if it has its own belt? some people have told me its drivin by the timin belt and some have told me its not. but ive seen the timin belt kits with the water pump. so if anybody knos..please share.

 

The timing belt only turns the cams and is located INSIDE the engine (under covers).
The water pump is turned by an accessory belt on the OUTSIDE of the engine.
