'08 Elantra Windshield Washer Reservoir Kaput
2008 Elantra GLS SE: A friend of mine got into a fender-bender that shattered the reservoir, and because no good deed goes unpunished, I volunteered to put in a new one. I checked it out this morning.
• The impact broke loose the front bumper cover on the passenger side, exposing the tank, so it should be pretty easy to RnR.
• We tested the pump, which didn't make any noise when pulling on the wiper stalk, which did trigger two windshield wipes, but no pump noise.
• I have a multi-meter. How do I check if power is getting to the pump?
• My friend tells me it's a GLS SE, but there are no badges to indicate that. If it is, is that trim supposed to have a empty sensor and a corresponding idiot light? I think the sensor is on the bottom of the tank?
Please don't assume I know anything about what I'm doing. I'm open to all comments. Also looking for good parts sources. I think this is the right tank: Many thanks for your help, PW
