Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Exclamation 1999 Hyundai Elantra

When I go to take off the car is very sluggish, when I shift I have the same problems. As long as the RPM's are up everything seems fine. I plan on changing out the fuel filter tomorrow, but if anyone else has the solution to my problem I would be grateful!!

Default Also

After talking to a friend he thought that it might be the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). It only costs 50$ so that would be great and it is easy to install so that would be great that and a fuel filter! haha.

Does anyone have anything to add? I am going to hook up my ohmmeter and see if the TPS is in the green, if it is not I am going to replace it tomorrow (or put it on order) I will keep everyone informed of what is going on.

Thanks Everyone for your support and input!

HARNESS INSPECTION PROCEDURES

SENSOR INSPECTION
1.Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
2.Measure resistance between terminal 2 (sensor ground) and terminal 3 (sensor power).

3.Connect an ohmmeter between terminal 3 (sensor ground) and terminal 1 (sensor output).
4.Operate the throttle valve slowly from the idle position to the full open position and check that the resistance changes smoothly in proportion to the throttle valve opening angle.
5.If the resistance is out of specification, or fails to change smoothly, replace the throttle position sensor.
