I have a 2000 elantra that the cruise quit working. All brake switches check out ok, when you try to set the speed the light even comes on in the dash,but no cruise. Checked cable and the vacuum diaphram-ok. I'm thinking the vacuum pump. Is this a common problem?

 

You need to check power to the unit, if it's got power then the unit is probably bad.
