Default 2011 Elantra GLS Automatic Stalls in trafic or while idle

Anyone had this problem yet? My 2011 Elantra GLS Automatic does stall when idle at a red light or when stuck in the traffic. Usually just shuts off, I have to put it to park, turn off ignition and start it back again, wich always works. The trick is that when it starts back, sometimes, the rpm gage doesn't work, stays at 0 eventough I'm going 40/60 m/h. Mostly happening everyday now. Car has 133 500 Km

Known issue? Guy at the dealership told me he has never seen that. Told him there was a Santa Fe recall couple weeks ago that seemed to produce the same problem, he told me it could not be related.

any cues?

I have the exact same problem with the same car. I have about 138k on my car. Were you able to find out the problem?. I’m bringing my car to the dealer on Monday.

Default Crankshaft position Sensor

Yes, it appeared to be the « crankshaft position sensor » that was defect. It is the piece that makes the engine tells the computer it needs gas, and at some point it just doesn’t work so the car stalls. Had it fixed, and the car is doing quite fine since. Now a 173000km and haven’t had any other issues.

The crank sensor is where the engine RPM comes from. That is a good clue as to where the problem is originating.
