Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default Brakes

Hi All!! I am doing a brake job on a 2008 Elantra. I want to replace the rear rotors. On ice the front only brakes work. The cars anti lock brakes kick on real easy. Even on slightly wet streets. It seems like only the front brakes are working. I pulled off calipers and found pads on passenger side completely worn on outside and inside pad hardly worn. Driver side had substantial pad left on both inside and outside. Rotors were badly pitted towards outer 3/4 ". seens like pads were not squarly fitting against rotor. I want to change rotors. Clean and lubricate areas where pads fit. The pistons do not seem to be frozen, and I lubricated the slide pins. How do you remove Rotors. I seems like you have to unbolt the entire assemble that the caliper bolts onto. Please advise. THANK YOU!!!
Ron

Yes, to remove the rotor, you have the remove the caliper and the caliper braket.
