Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default Check Engine Light

I have a 2000 Elantra, and recently a check engine light came on. I scanned the car and got the code. It came back as 02 sensor circuit bank 1 sensor 2.

A month or so ago, my ignition coil pack had gone up. I have a little over 100k miles on the car. I replaced the coil pack and everything seemed fine for a couple weeks, however the car had run badly for a week or so before the problem was diagnosed.

I had someone tell me that it could be the catalytic converter could have gone bad due to the earlier problem, and this code could mean either the sensor was bad or the cat converter.

Anyone have any advise as to what steps to take next? Thanks in advance.
