Just bought a used 2000 elantra. Yesterday I noticed a squeak/screech coming from the right front wheel when moving. It stops when brake is applied, but starts again when I let off the brake pedal. I thought of brake wear indicator, but doesn't that usually happen when brakes are applied instead of when they're released? Thanks!

I had a similar occurance with my '03 elantra. What was causing the noise in my case, was the the cushion between the rotor and the break pad had worn away, so the edge of the pad was rubbing against the rotor.
