hey guys, i'm new on here. i have a 2000k elantra wagon. cant put more than 10 gal of fuel in it, i believe someone replaced the gas tank. if i were to put the OE tank back on, would i have to change out the thing that tells the needle how much is in it? and if so, how do i go about finding one?

 

As far as the gauge sending unit in the tank , it could provide false info if not for that particular tank. If it registers correctly as empty when the float is down and full when the float is all the way up It should be close.
The tank,,,Finding one,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,that could be a problem although some dealerships may be able to help locate one. Sometimes you might get lucky and find one in a salvage yard.
