I tried to insert a flexible plastic tube into the dipstick opening and the oil opening at the top of the engine, but I couldn't get the tubes to reach the oil pan. I wanted to siphon out the old oil into a container with a hand pump. The dipstick opening did not let tube go beyond the bend leading to the oil pan. The oil opening at the top of the engine has some metal piece across the opening preventing the tube from going through the opening.

Any ideas on how to siphon out the old oil from my 2005 Elantra?

Huh? Just remove the drain plug from the oil pan and let it drain out. Why are you trying to siphon it out from the top with a pump?
