Navigation question
So I'm new to this 2017 Elantra, and I've never had a navigation system in a car, having always just used my phone. Once paired, the car, always gets involved in the navigation process, every time I start the car. If it was a solid process, there'd be no problem. But it craps out after a few minutes of driving, and there's no getting the car's nav system back in the game while driving. That always takes the phone's nav down also. Of course it always happens just before a necessary turn comes up.
So here's the question; is it normal for the car to lose contact with the phone while driving? Or is this something going out in the car's navigation system? It keeps saying "phone not responding" and then just goes into a non destination, generic map of the current road. I have to restart google maps on the phone to continue using the phone's navigation. There's no getting the car's navigation back on mission, and re paired with the phone's navigation while driving. FWIW, this all happens in a semi rural area, but in these exact same areas, my phone gets a good signal. So I'm asking if it's normal, or possibly a problem on the horizon for the navigation system. Sorry if it's too long, and thanks TIA for any help on this.
if it's a looming electronic problem, I'd prefer to address it while I have a short warranty
