Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default a some questions..

I have an '03 elantra and have been tryin' to look for some slight mods so I don't void my warranty. I've just been browsing a lot and have been seeing a lot of "accessories," one might say:
Do the Nology spark plug wires actually have improved performance over the OEM wires? I've also seen these oil coolers; do these do anything at all?

They do help slightly and are better for your car. They are not dramatic increases, but yes, they do a little.

If you do the wires I would suggest switching out the spark plugs as well. NGK and Denso Iridium plugs are a good choice.

The only real "performance" mod I've done on my car is to remove my 15 mm rear sway bar and put on the 19 mm sway bar used on the 03 Tiburon GT which is 2.5 times stiffer than the stock bar. Here is a guide I wrote that tells you everything you need to know (click on "Elantra/Spectra Rear Sway Bar Upgrade").

You can either buy the sway bar and bushings from a dealer for about $120, or go search through Tiburon forums for people who upgrade their Tibbies and sell their stock ones to help pay for the new one. From that same site, click on Links and look for Tiburon owners forums. I got mine new at a dealer.

It makes the car feel much better in the corners; more like a go-cart. It's the first mod many Elantra owners do.[sm=smiley20.gif]

So... does anyone have the nology spark wires on their elantra? I've installed them, but the two shorter wires seem a bit too long - there's quite a bit of slack on them. Anybody else have this problem?
