Default A/T issues 01 Elantra

my transmission will randomly slip/clunk into gear usually 3rd or 4th, then check engine light comes on and i get high rpms but very little horse power, if i shut the engine off and restart it the check engine light goes off and its back to normal???? any ideas????

Yes...Have the modules scanned for codes, and then deal with each code as applicable..

ok thanks a lot bro and sorry if this is a question im just overlooking the answer to, but what are the modules? im an HVAC tech not automotive, thanks again

ok i have codes; p0715 & p0720 trans. input speed sensor & output speed sensor, is this a pain in the *** job? they dont talk about theese components in the haynes manual, thanks again

Default Piece of cake

Dont recall which trans used in the 01 Elantra, but.....

If it has a bottom pan, the sensors come as a set hard wired together..

If you have the NGT trans (oil pan on side of case).. then the sensors sold seperate.
