Not sure if you are aware but the Elantra sedan and Elantra Touring are 2 totally different vehicles. The Touring was never a wagon version of the Elantra sedan. However, it did share the same engine and interior styling of the previous generation of the Elantra sedan.
The new Elantra has a newer, modern 4-cyl engine with similar horsepower (131-hp) but it is smaller (1.6L vs the old 2.0L) and is rated 29/40 mpg.
