Default Auto headlights - sort of...

My ET did not come with Auto headlights and I've been doing some testing to make sure I don't end up with a dead battery for leaving the lights on.

I keep my headlights and foglights on always. I found that the keyless entry turns them off on the second lock push when the car also Beeps.

When the car is left without the second push, it also turns off the headlights within 30 seconds.

This is a great feature and no my headlights are always in the ON positions so I guess I sort of have Auto Headlights.

Pretty cool!

Most Hyundais are like that. My '04 Tiburon, my '06 Tucson and the wifes '06 Sedona all shut off the lights automatically if you leave the switch on and open the drivers door with the ignition off.

Wouldn't leaving light switch on and then starting car be hard on the battery in the winter because when you turn the key the lights come on as you are attempting to start the car?
