Smile Chrome Exhaust Tip

Hey everyone,

I bought my Touring Sport a few months ago. My dealer said I was one of the first to buy one from them. I was going to order the chrome tip exhaust when I bought the vehicle but was hesitant because I wasn't sure how it would look. I thought it might look a little cheap, popping up as it does in the photo on their site. Just wondering if anyone out there who has the hyundai exhaust on their ET could post a pic. Also, would this change the sound of exhaust?

For anyone who cares to know, I just went over 13,000km and have noticed the fuel economy is still getting better as the engine wears in. Overall I am very satisfied with the car and have had no problems at all. My only complaint is that acceleration is terrible from about 60 km/h. Most other speeds can find a decent rev in the 4 speed auto gear box. Wondering if I should have bought the 5 speed manual.

Thanks!

I have the tip on my Touring. It is oval, not round as in the pic you have. I'm not set up right now to upload a pic. It looks like it belongs on the car, when you see it installed. No change in sound, purely cosmetic.

Thanks a lot for replying! Do you think it is worth getting? I feel that it would give a nicer sportier look to the car.

If you find a way, please upload a pic. I would like to see before spending the money...if possible.

Yes it gives the car a sportier look. That's why I got it. My PC with photo software is offline due to house renovations. Maybe by October I'll be able to post up a pic of the tip. Sorry. My wife gave the tip a thumbs up and said it complements the look of the car from the rear.

Default Chrome Exhaust Tip

It doesnt look like a coating. Maybe Ill try some Mothers just to see if they clean up a bit. I know the bluing cant be polished out, but maybe I can at least make them look a little better.

Default Chrome Tip

Hey!
I just bought the 2010 Touring and put the chrome tip on. It looks nice and since it is the same style (not round or enlarged) it looks natural. I got it at Advanced Auto for under $10.

I bought this 3A Racing tip for $10 shipped, and it looks completely stock:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ss_T15_product

I had the tip installed over the weekend along with a 2" inlet/outlet Thrush Turbo muffler (Part #17704). For those who are looking for an inexpensive hi-flow muffler that sounds very mellow and has no drone, then this is the one. I found mine for $29.76 shipping on Amazon. Sounds clips will follow as soon as it warms up here.
