Help - Wet Floor on Drivers side
My 2012 Elantra Touring is 4 days old. I lifted the carpeted floor mat on the drivers side and found lots of condensation on the underside of the mat and the carpet was wet and a little sticky. It rained one of the four days. I assume either rain is leaking in, or the AC is somehow leaking on the drivers side (I doubt it). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I dread dealing with trying to get this found and fixed. I do not have a sunroof, and the leaking appears to only be on the drivers side.
Brought to dealer first thing this morning. First question asked was if I bought it there - answer was no. I gave them the facts and the towels used to soak up the water all weekend - the towels have some brown from the carpet color coming up. Dealer gave back car a few hours later stating they see no problem. They noted that it was probably due to me parking somewhere which allowed rain to get in through the drivers side door.
For the record, which I also shared with them. I now do think it is the AC system drainage. I think debris from fabrication is clogging something - probably inside of something equivalent to a pan (compared to home ac systems). While looking under my car, out of nowhere a stream of water was pissed on the ground from the drain line under the car. It was like someone turned a valve on then off. Assuming that the drain works by a constant dripping of accumulated condensation, the quick stream I saw which looked like a squirt gun shooting, was probably backed up water forcing its way through the clog. All I can do is watch to make sure my ac is draining on the ground under my car, and bring it back in if it floods inside or I see no drainage after use of the ac.
