Default Hooking up Sirius Radio

I have a Sirius radio and would like to use it via the AUX connection on my 2010 ET GL.

I have run the antenna discreetly and the unit works fine (although staticky) through the FM transmiter, but I can't figure out a clean way to run the cables from the Sirius radio to the Aux port. I have the radio mounted on the window (driver's side corner). Since the vents on the ET are vertical, I cannot mount the unit on the vents (and then I would have antenna and power cables hanging down anyways. Has anyone successfully done this?

Another problem is that while the sound is clear on AUX, there is a high pitch tone that is constantly emitted. It is not too noticable when listening to music but when listening to talk radio then it is extremely irritating. When I mute the stereo, the buzzing stops. I have tried 2 aux cables and the problem continues. I plan to try plugging in another device to see if the buzzing continues, but anyone else noticed this?

Other than this, I love the car! Had it just over a week now.

It comes with satellite radio already. All you need to do is connect your sirius account to the radio already in the car.

Maybe in the US? I can get XM on the GLS package (I bought the GS which has not satellite radio), but Sirius and XM are still seperate companies in Canada. I want to be able to listen to Howard Stern, so until he retires I am stuck with Sirius

Is your Aux port inside the arm rest?

I have a 2010 GLS model and found that inside the arm rest there is a little pad at the bottom that easily can be lifted off. My Aux cable now goes through the arm rest and along the inside of the plastic right along the E brake area to the center console. I did take off a screw from the plastic near the front and routed the aux cable to come out right next to the cigarrette lighter.

This looks pretty slick and might work for you to keep the radio down there and with a long enough antenna cable the same routing should work to route it down and under the carpet and up the door area to let it rest on the dash.

No problems for me using the Aux input. I've used it for an Iphone directly and currently have a Bluetooth transmitter hooked up to it that let's me use the car speakers for phone calls and it also plays music from my phone's iPod or Pandora.

I miss listening to Stern since this car has XM but it's not critical for me. I'd rather save the $$ and keep paying for my phone's $30 per month data plan.

Unfortuantely the GL model does not have the aux port in the armrest. That would have been perfect :P
