Hyundai Elantra Touring 2010 - Cruise control stop working
Hi guys,
for about a year now, my cruise control only works 2 out of 5 times. When i'm on the highway, i put my cruise on and about a minute later, the cruise deactivates itself out of nowhere. It's not just the «set» display, but rather the cruise control itself just like if someone were pressing the cruise on/off button on the steering wheel.
Do you have any idea what is the problem with my car?
Thanks!

Oh, I have an idea or two, the question is how much do you want to get involved in checking them or are you going to have someone else do the work?
The reason I ask, the checks can be a little work and I don't know if you can or want to get into checking things. Will save us both a lot of bla, bla, bla, etc.

OK, something for you to check.
The stoplight switch, a portion of the stoplight switch stays closed to complete the circuit to the cruise control.
If the stop lite sw is opening for any reason, it will automatically cancel cruise control. Check it out for proper function.
When the pedal is not depressed , the circuit for cruise is closed. When pedal is depressed and stoplights go on other section of switch opens to cancel cruise.
Check the adjustment.
