Default Starting problem

Interesting issue here. Intermittantly, when I have to start the car and turn it off while its still in a 'fast idle' mode, ie, the car's cold, and I let the car sit for a long time, it will not start again, acting likes it's flooded. Car starts fine if I restart within several hours.

Dealer says this is normal, in that I'm interrrupting the purge valve from completing its job of purging fumes. What's happening is the fumes are filling the air box and fooling the ecu into thinking its flooded.

I counter and say I have a ten year old Camry that has NEVER done this, in this situation. He does not want to compare vehicles, not being familiar with the other vehicle systems.

Anyone else experience this starting issue under these circumstances?

Just curious: How many miles are on the car?

Hmmm. I think your dealer is wrong: this is not normal.

What brand of gasoline and how often do you buy "may contain 10% ethanol"?

Brands are BP and Quiktrip. All gas I buy contains 10% or less ethanol.

Any difference between BP and the QT. (I have had bad luck with "bargain" brands.)

Anyone else want to chime in?

Unfortunately I really can't tell. The scenario isn't often enough.
