Hey guys. I recently bought a 05 Santa Fe 2.7L with 25.5k miles on, it sat for a while I'm unsure how long but its ultimately in good shape, and was owned by an elderly gentleman, My friend bought the car and it sat a winter. I'm having an issue with the car engaging into park or starting in park. Starting the car in park will cause the car to essentially act like it lost all power and will not trigger the starter. The car will shift out of park and start fine in neutral and enter drive and reverse without issue. With the car in park the " P" light is not illuminated, Parking pin is not engaged and the car acts as if it was in neutral which is a new development and did not happen before the winter. Shifting seems stiff but I have no real comparison. The shift cable when removed from linkage will move freely and is not bound up. Scanned the computer, no codes found. My belief is that apart of the issue lies with the Neutral Saftey Switch and have ordered that part.
