2.7 V6 Knocking/Ticking G6BA Help !
Hi Dear Friends,
I own a 2.7 v6 engine (G6BA) which unfortunately has a strange defect. It manifests itself both on cold (worse here) and on warm engine (much quieter here). The rattling / knocking comes as if from around the first head or timing gear. The timing gear together with tensioners, rollers and water pump I replaced-no improvement. I changed the oil from 5w30 to 10w40 - no improvement. I added Liquy-Moly Ceratec additive (after 200km) no improvement. I'm running out of ideas, what the heck is this? Possibly a piston or hydraulic tappet? Or maybe a valve?

I have exactly identical knocking. People in the comments spread their hands.... Please help because it annoys me terribly

There is some grey area here..
A video of a different vehicle is not the same as a video of the vehicle in question.
There are differences between the frequency of the sounds between an engine knock and a valve noise.
Is it possible to provide a video of the vehicle that has the problem?
To a person that has not had the opportunity to actually experience the different sounds , it can be somewhat confusing and even then some specific tests should be conducted to verify the suspected cause.

I have not checked this - the computer, on the other hand, does not indicate any error. I understand that it is worth replacing it in this case? Or do you know how to check it beforehand?
This sound is most audible under no load. When I let off the gas this rattling sound can be heard. At a standstill when turning the steering wheel (it gets a load) and the revs drop below 700 it is all silent. It's very strange.

There are some things that can come into the picture.
Among them is ; the correct motor oil
was the oil changed on time
with variable valve timing cleanliness is critical
make sure solenoid screens are not restricting
good oil pressure to components
It does sound like a bad valve lifter, I believe that engine has a timing chain for the exhaust camshafts
You might be able to use a piece of rubber hose with one end placed close to your ear and the other end placed in different areas to see where the sound is loudest.
That might help pin down an area and we would search from there.
