2002 Santa FE headlights always on
Here's a new one for me....
Came outside to find my headlights on. Car was locked, no keys in ignition....
Got into car, started it no problem. Hi beam indicator is on constantly, switch stalk makes the headlights flicker but not change intensity. The only way to shut off the headlights is to pull the battery connector.
All advice appreciated, I'm pretty handy with a socket wrench and a voltmeter but car wiring is a black hole to me...

Did you try to put the headlight switch on "Manual" mode as opposed the "Auto" mode?

I didn't even know my Santa Fe HAD auto headlights......so much for RTFM...
That was it - bad sensor - I have disabled auto-on for now, will do more when it's not -22 degrees outside - Thank You!

RE: 2002 Santa FE headlights always on
Ok - so that wasn't the problem. headlights came on by themselves again this afternoon. Same symtoms as before - Hi-beam indicator on dash is on constantly, can't switch from hi beam to low-beam, lights remain on even with car switched off & keys out. I have pulled both headlight fuses in the box under the hood to turn them off.
To me it looks like a wiring fault, but I can't find anything loose, broken or burnt, either under the hood or around the internal fuse box. - any ideas on where/how to look?
Thanks
