Can I program a remote for myself or do I need to go to a dealer. Right now I only have one, and I'd like two.

 

You need the hyundai Hy-scan tool to program the remotes, Both nust be programed at the same time or you loose what you have programed already.

The directions are for Elantras, and it is inaccurate in that it says it works for 01-04 Elantras (really just 01-03), but I don't think the HiScan is required; I know of several people who have done that with their Elantras (including the guy who wrote that guide).... since the remote is the same for the Santa Fe in 03, wouldn't that procedure work?

 

My Tiburon had to be done by the dealer. I tried 3 DIY ways and none of them worked.
