Default Back up Camera Issues

Have had my 2020 Santa Fe Limited in 6 times to have the Back-Up Camera repaired. We are on the 3rd camera and the fix doesn’t last. After a month or so I start getting black straight lines like static across the screen and the image is shaky. Occasionally it will go away but then returns. The dealer wants me to bring it back in again to access the issue. The original problem they stated was moisture in the camera. That may be true by why?

Has anyone else had this problem and did they come up with a permanent fix? The only thing that hasn’t happened yet, but I know its coming, is the dealer to blame the problem on me because I”m using the camera too much....

Thanks everyone for the support.

There is not too much anyone can do unless they see the problem AND have corrected it.

Some things just can't be answered without doing some checking.

If your dealer tells you that , I would ask if they would put that in writing.

Did you or do you know if anyone checked the wiring for loose or poor connections?

If only the back up camera part is affected, The problem is confined to the wiring connections for that system only.

How handy are you and , have any electrical skills to recognize a poor connection when you see it?
Sometimes it may be only a loose connection where the signal is lost and returns.

Hi!
Im hoping you can share some info on how to check for a loose connection? My backup cam recently just stopped working the other day. When in reverse, screen is just black w/zero activity. No idea why? The screen/display itself is otherwise fine when not in reverse. I’ve checked the fuse, which is fine as well. Not sure what to do. Was literally just looking to trade it in. No it’s looking like I need to spend a bunch of unnecessary money unless I can figure out what the problem is myself. Any ideas, suggestions, help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
