I have a two part question, does anyone have any tips on improving fuel mileage ona 04 Santa Fe, I live in Canada and my mileage is only 11-12 mpg in the city, secondly since I've had the car, there is a very loud clunking sound coming from the rear, does anyone know it the spare tires on these veicles make that sound?

 

the spare tire is under the rear of the vehicle. if the vehicle has been properly maintained driving habits are main cause of poor gas mileage, how you accelerate can be a causing factor.
