I have just purchased a 2004 Santa Fe and it comes with a car alarm. Everytime I shut the door about 45 seconds later the car locks itself. What if my keys are inside or my kid is inside while i pump my gas. I have tried putting the car in accessories mode and push the button so the light stops blinking but when i shut the door it arms itself. How do i shut it off so i can shut the door without the alarm arming itself.

 

this is an aftermarket alarm system? if so you have to find the valet switch and depend on the system you have to use it to put it in valet mode. also if you want to disarm the system completely you can try and find the main fuse for the alarm and remove it.

 

My 2004 Sonata did this when the batteries got low in the remote fob, replace your batterys and see if it still does the same thing..
